PRAISE Bible Study Plan

Pray

  • Thank God for His desire to commune with us.

  • Ask God to help you as you study.

  • Pray that you will hear His voice as you read His Word.

  • Ask God to help you understand what He has to say.

  • Ask God to show you how to apply scripture to your life.

Read

  • Read the scriptures you have chosen for the day.

  • Read the scriptures several times over the course of the week.

  • Read the scriptures in two or three different versions.

Ask

  • Jot down any questions you have about what you just read.

  • Circle or mark any words that you don’t understand.

  • Write down any other scriptures or Bible stories you think of as you read.

  • Ask yourself two questions:

o  What did I learn about Jesus from this passage?

o What does this passage tell me about who I am MADE to be?

Investigate

  • Read the corresponding lesson (if applicable).

  • Review the questions you asked when you first read the scriptures. If you have discovered the answer to your question, write those down.

  • If something you read reminded you of another Bible verse or story, look up that scripture passage and read it.

  • Consult other resources such as commentaries, sermons, podcasts, etc. for further exploration.

Summarize

  • Answer any questions in your lesson (if applicable).

  • Write a short summary paragraph about what you have learned from your reading.

Engage

  • Practice scripture memorization.

  • Read the life example (if applicable).

  • Find one way in which you can put what you’ve learned into practice and do it.
