Worshiping the God Who Can, Even When He Won't

I wanted to write about worship tonight. I looked through my notes. I looked through my book of quips and quotes. I even googled a few things. But nothing was clicking. So, for the second time this week, I started looking through old files. I came to one titled, “Songs.” The following is the first file I opened. Interestingly enough, the verse (Ezekiel 11:19) is the one I chose to pray over Brandon last year. It was the verse we had printed on Brandon’s funeral card. God’s Word is as true today as it was back then. So, I worship the God who can, even when He won’t change things.

"God Can Change Things"

"I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh."  Ezekiel 11:19

Verse 1

Satan can not deceive me with human limitations.

He wants to defeat me with man-made equations.

But I will stand firm in the face of the foe.

I will believe in the Word because I know. . .

Chorus

God can change things.

I've seen His miracles before.

He will change things.

When you open up the door.

Satan wants to make us doubt.

He's the father of all lies.

But if we stand on the Word,

we will realize. . .

God can change things.

I've seen His miracles before.

He will change things

When you open up the door

Verse 2

I have seen the evidence in the lives of many men.

From Paul in the Bible times to the father of my friend.

The Promises are outlined and are clear for us to see.

Nothing is impossible, if only we believe.

Repeat Chorus twice

Verse 3

I will never give up hope. I'll continue to pray

The power rests in God's hands, but we must keep the faith.

No man is outside the reach of the Spirit's call

If we pray and we  believe, the barriers will fall

Repeat Chorus

Don't ever doubt the power of the Holy One

He's already sacrificed His one and only Son

So He can change things...

Thank God He changed things

He changed everything.
